The Role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer for our Protective Design and Security Practice. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience and expertise in:-
- Blast Analysis and Dynamic Design
- Hostile Vehicle Mitigation Design
- Physical Security Building Fabric Design
Working with [Employer hidden]’s Protective Design and Security Practice you will have the opportunity to work with, and learn from, a global team of subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects, managing scope, budgets, and resources, including junior engineers and technicians.
- Liaising with clients and design teams to successfully deliver project outcomes.
- Undertake specialist engineering analysis to determine the response of building to explosions.
- Carry out engineering analysis and design of hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) measures.
- Attend and manage explosive blast trials, vehicle impact crash tests and physical attack trials.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in civil and structural engineering
- Chartered with an appropriate Engineering Council institution.
- Attained or working towards Principal Membership of the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists.
- Have strong analytical skills and an ability to work outside of conventional design codes and practices.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and a driven desire to become an acknowledged expert.
- Understanding of risk and risk mitigation, analytical skills with intuitive and logical approach to solving engineering problems to partake in the forefront of physical security R&D.
- Possess strong commercial aptitude and an ability to manage resources and finances for small projects.
- Ability to prepare concise reports documenting survey, trials and analysis.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate will need to be able to obtain United Kingdom security vetting clearance. Eligibility requirements depend on individual circumstances.
