Financial Controller
This is an opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business at a pivotal time in its journey. This is a hands-on financial leadership role where you’ll influence financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across the site. You’ll support senior stakeholders, shape financial strategy, and lead a capable and long-standing team.
Key Benefits:
- £70,000 - £75,000 pa, dependent on experience

The Role
As Financial Controller, you’ll oversee all financial operations across this growing manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Operations Director and functionally to the EU Head of Manufacturing Finance, and working closely with the Plant Leadership Team, you’ll be critical in ensuring the facility meets all financial and operational objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and drive the plant’s financial strategy, aligning to wider business objectives.
- Partner with the Plant Director and senior leadership team to promote accountability and cost control across the site.
- Provide clear financial insight to support operational and strategic decision making.
- Lead all financial controlling activities including audits, reporting, forecasting, and compliance.
- Monitor plant performance against budgets and operating plans.
- Own the CAPEX budgeting process and cash flow forecasting.
- Deliver detailed cost analysis and identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead monthly performance reviews and address variances proactively.
- Build and maintain robust SKU-level cost models and support transfer pricing requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and productivity initiatives across the site.
- Support finance digital transformation initiatives.
- Act as a key contributor to shopfloor financial awareness and operational methodologies.
- Lead and develop the on-site finance team.
The Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced finance professional with a background in manufacturing and operations, comfortable working closely with production and operational teams. You’ll bring both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to challenge, influence, and drive change effectively.
Key Skills & Experience:
- CIMA / ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent.
- 10+ years’ experience in financial management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, confident developing teams and managing challenging dynamics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a strategic and hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels and build credibility quickly.
- High attention to detail and with strong commercial awareness.
- Confidence working autonomously and managing ambiguity.
- Strong systems capability (Access Supply Chain, SAP, Magnitude, ERP, reporting tools, Excel).
