Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant - KS2 | Creative & Therapeutic SEND School | Southwark | Start ASAP

Are you a creative, compassionate, and patient individual who loves working with children with additional needs? A wonderful SEND school in Southwark is seeking a Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join their caring and dynamic team, starting as soon as possible.

You'll be supporting KS2 pupils with a range of special educational needs in a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment. The role is 2-3 days per week, and is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on, creative, and child-centred work.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Support pupils in class and during creative learning activities
  • Use art, music, play, and sensory approaches to help children express themselves and build confidence
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning and wellbeing support
  • Encourage communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation through engaging, meaningful experiences

This is a role where creativity and empathy go hand-in-hand - ideal for someone who wants to make a real impact in a supportive, therapeutic setting.

This Southwark-based SEND school provides a calm, caring, and inspiring environment where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential. The team includes teachers, therapists, and support staff who work closely together to nurture the whole child - academically, emotionally, and socially. Staff wellbeing and professional development are central to the school's ethos.

Experience working with children with SEN or in a therapeutic or creative setting (school-based experience desirable)

A creative mindset - you might have skills or interests in art, music, drama, play, or sensory activities

A patient, caring, and positive approach to supporting children with diverse needs

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Reliability and enthusiasm to be part of a collaborative and nurturing team

If you're a creative and caring Teaching Assistant who believes in the power of therapeutic education and wants to be part of a truly special school community - we'd love to hear from you!
