Cover Supervisor | Alternative Provision (AP)
Blackpool | Full-Time | Start: ASAP
Are you a resilient, engaging, and adaptable professional looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team at a leading Alternative Provision in Blackpool.
This isn't your average classroom role. You will be working with small groups of up to 8 pupils, delivering pre-set work and providing the stability these students need to succeed.
The Role
- Location: Blackpool (Accessible via public transport and M55).
- Setting: Alternative Provision (Supporting students outside of mainstream education).
- Class Size: Small, focused groups (Maximum 8 pupils).
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, Full-Time (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM approx).
- Duration: Starting ASAP on a long-term basis.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver Excellence: Lead the classroom by delivering pre-set lesson plans across various subjects.
- Behavior Management: Use de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement to maintain a calm, productive learning environment.
- Mentorship: Act as a role model, building rapport with students who may have social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Support: Work closely with dedicated Teaching Assistants to ensure every child remains on task.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Sports Coach, Youth Worker, or Teaching Assistant is highly desirable.
- Character: You must be "thick-skinned," empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Adaptability: The ability to think on your feet and engage students who find traditional education challenging.
- Compliance: You must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
Why Join This Provision?
- Impact: Small class sizes mean you can actually see the progress your students make every single day.
- Supportive Environment: Work within a tight-knit team of specialists who offer ongoing guidance and professional development.
- Competitive Pay: Earn a daily rate that reflects your experience and commitment.
