Job Description

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking caring and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist school in North West London, supporting children with autism, learning disabilities, and complex additional needs.

The Role

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to assist pupils throughout the school day. Many students require 1:1 or small group support to help them engage in learning, communication development, and structured daily routines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Supporting personalised learning activities tailored to individual needs and abilities
  • Encouraging the development of communication, social skills, and independence
  • Assisting with sensory activities and structured routines
  • Supporting positive behaviour and classroom engagement
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff to ensure consistent pupil support

The Ideal Candidate

- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (autism or learning disabilities is highly desirable)

- A patient, caring, and compassionate approach

- Strong teamwork and communication skills

- Ability to follow structured routines and adapt to individual needs

- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
