Mental Health Support Worker - Schools (Northamptonshire)

Are you passionate about supporting young people's emotional wellbeing and helping them thrive in an educational setting? We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Workers to work across a variety of schools in Northamptonshire, supporting students who require additional emotional and behavioural support.

In this rewarding role, you will work as a Teaching Assistant with a focus on mental health, providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils facing challenges such as anxiety, low mood, behavioural difficulties, or social and emotional needs. You will play a key role in helping students engage with their learning, build resilience, and develop positive coping strategies.

Assignments are booked through [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk], offering you the opportunity to gain experience in a range of primary and secondary school settings across the Northamptonshire area. This flexible approach allows you to broaden your skills while making a meaningful difference in multiple school communities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with identified mental health needs in the classroom
  • Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting teachers with behaviour management strategies
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging emotional regulation and social development

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people, ideally in a mental health or educational setting
  • Are empathetic, patient, and resilient
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are adaptable and confident working in different school environments

In return, you will receive ongoing support from [Employer hidden], access to training opportunities, and the chance to make a genuine impact on young people's lives.

If you are ready to take the next step in your career and support students who need it most, apply today and join us in making a difference across Northamptonshire schools.
