Are you looking to start a rewarding role in education this April or May? Would you like to gain hands-on classroom experience with the opportunity to secure a long-term or permanent position?

We are working in partnership with a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Northampton, who are seeking confident, reliable, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to start in April or May 2026.

Schools are offering both full-time and part-time opportunities, with long-term placements that can lead to permanent roles for the right individuals.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning by supervising pre-prepared lessons during teacher absence. You will help maintain a positive and focused classroom environment, ensuring students remain engaged and on task throughout the lesson.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising pre-set lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Delivering clear instructions to students and ensuring they stay on task
  • Supporting students with lesson activities where appropriate
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement and behaviour

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)
  • Be confident managing a classroom and maintaining positive behaviour
  • Be professional, proactive, and adaptable in different school environments
  • Be open to both full-time and part-time opportunities
  • Show a genuine interest in education and long-term progression within schools
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

What You'll Gain:

  • Flexible working options to suit your availability
  • Long-term placements in supportive Northampton secondary schools
  • Competitive weekly pay
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant
  • Free access to CPD including safeguarding and behaviour management training
  • Clear pathways into permanent school-based roles and career progression

If you're motivated, resilient, and ready to step into a school environment where you can make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
