Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support (KS2)
Location: Doncaster
Start Date: May 2026
Contract: Long-term (covering staff absence)

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil on a 1:1 basis at a welcoming primary school in Doncaster.

This role is due to start in May and will continue on a long-term basis, covering a staff absence. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey.

About the Role:

You will be working closely with a KS2 pupil who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The successful candidate will provide tailored support to help the pupil access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential in a supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support in line with the pupil's EHCP
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning strategies
  • Support emotional regulation and social development
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Monitor and report on progress and wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to supporting inclusion and pupil progress
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check
