Are you an enthusiastic, proactive individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs? [Employer hidden] is proud to be working with a highly regarded specialist school in Nottinghamshire, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is a full-time role (5 days a week) with a temp-to-perm opportunity, giving you the chance to build meaningful relationships and secure a long-term position within a supportive and specialist setting.

About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex learning needs, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments. The school provides a highly personalised, multi-sensory curriculum designed to promote communication, independence, and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility where required
  • Supporting communication through sensory approaches and specialist strategies
  • Helping deliver engaging, multi-sensory learning activities
  • Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals

About You
To be considered for this role, you should:

  • Have experience supporting individuals with complex needs (education, care, or similar settings)
  • Be patient, resilient, and proactive in your approach
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Be comfortable supporting personal care
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
