Job Description

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to work within a specialist SEN school in Kidderminster. You will be supporting secondary aged students with Autism, Severe Learning Disabilities, complex needs and a range of additional needs, helping them prepare for adulthood in a structured, nurturing, and supportive environment.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference, delivering engaging and personalised learning that supports both academic progress and life skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEN
  • Adapt the curriculum to meet a range of learning needs, including Autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties
  • Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
  • Support students' communication, social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Prepare pupils for adulthood, including functional skills, independence, and employability skills
  • Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes engagement and well-being
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider school staff to support holistic development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Access to a vehicle
  • Experience working with students that have SEN, particularly Autism and Learning Disabilities
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Understanding of EHCPs and SEN best practices within a specialist setting
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Legal right to work in the UK
