Are you an enthusiastic and proactive individual looking to support young people with additional needs? [Employer hidden] is working with a specialist academy in Nottingham to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), and associated communication difficulties.

This is a full-time role (5 days a week) with a temp-to-perm opportunity, giving you time to build strong relationships and secure a long-term role within a supportive and structured setting.

About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils who require additional guidance to engage with learning and manage their emotions within the classroom. The school offers a structured and nurturing environment, with a strong focus on behaviour support, routine, and personalised learning approaches.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
  • Helping deliver tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Building positive relationships to support engagement and trust
  • Promoting a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams

About You
To be considered for this role, you should:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs
  • Be resilient, calm, and consistent in your approach
  • Be confident managing challenging behaviour
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
  • Hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
