[Employer hidden] is a proud member of Trinity Multi-Academy Trust and the Sixth Form Colleges Association (SFCA). Our academy is recognised nationally for exceptional outcomes, with value-added progress measures placing us in the top 9% for Applied General qualifications and the top 12% for A Level subjects. We maintain a relentless focus on our mission of developing Life Ready young people, ensuring every learner receives the personalised support and high-quality teaching needed to excel.  We have an established track record of securing places for students at the most competitive universities and courses— including Oxbridge and Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science— with more than 20 students progressing to these prestigious destinations to date.

We are now seeking Casual Academic Tutors to join our highly successful Trinity Scholars programme (https://sixth.trinitymat.org/trinity-scholars/) , supporting students preparing for applications to Oxbridge and other top-ranking universities. We welcome applicants from a broad range of academic specialisms, including, but not limited to, those with strong mathematical backgrounds who have experience in admissions tests such as TMUA and STEP.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong subject expertise who are enthusiastic about stretching high-attaining learners and contributing to a programme that provides exceptional opportunities for our most academically ambitious students.

What does the role involve?

  • Deliver specialist tuition aligned with your subject area to support students to meet the demands of competitive Oxbridge and UK university applications.

  • Support preparation for a wide range of undergraduate admissions assessments, including (but not limited to):
  • Law: LNAT
  • Mathematics / Computer Science / Economics: TMUA, STEP
  • Humanities / Social Sciences: TARA, essay-based admissions tasks
  • Engineering / Sciences: ESAT
  • Provide structured, developmental feedback on personal statements and academic essays, focusing on clarity, structure, coherence and reflection—without editing or writing on behalf of the student.
  • Conduct mock interviews, enabling students to engage confidently with Oxbridge-style academic discussion and challenge.
  • Work closely with the Trinity Scholars Coordinator to monitor progress and ensure students are fully supported throughout the application process.
  • Foster a culture of ambition, curiosity and academic excellence among our highest-attaining learners.

What do we need?

  • A strong academic background, ideally including Oxbridge or another research-intensive university.
  • Subject expertise in one or more relevant academic disciplines including Economics, Law, Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities or Social Sciences.
  • Experience delivering academic tutoring and/or with Oxbridge admissions test preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear explanation, constructive feedback and the ability to support high-attaining learners with advanced concepts and Oxbridge-style academic challenge.
  • Commitment to raising aspirations and supporting students through a highly competitive admissions process with professionalism and enthusiasm.

What can we offer you?

  • The opportunity to make a significant impact on the futures of outstanding young people.
  • A chance to work within a forward-thinking, high-performing Multi-Academy Trust.
  • A valuable stepping stone for those considering a career in education, academia or specialist tutoring.
  • Access to staff benefits including reduced-cost health cover and the West Yorkshire Pension Fund.
