PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To support the Compliance function, based in the UK, in ensuring [Employer hidden] meets its regulatory obligations under the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and other applicable international legislation. The role involves maintaining compliance frameworks, committee work, handling due diligence processes, and supporting AML/KYC requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND TASKS:

  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures aligned with FCA requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to SMCR, GDPR, and anti-financial crime requirements.
  • Committee management
  • Coordinate internal committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, distributing papers, and taking accurate minutes.
  • Track and follow up on action points from committee meetings.
  • Due Diligence
  • Support the Operations team with due diligence queries for new intermediaries, ensuring all checks are completed before onboarding.
  • Respond to due diligence requests relating to [Employer hidden] Group.
  • Maintain records of due diligence activities and ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • AML/KYC
  • Handle AML/KYC queries and ensure appropriate checks are completed for all clients (corporate and individual).
  • Maintain AML/KYC registers and escalate concerns where necessary.
  • Training & Awareness
  • Administer compliance training programs (tracking progress and reporting).
  • Promote a risk-aware culture across the business.
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Support the completion and submission of FCA returns and other regulatory filings.
  • Assist with horizon scanning for regulatory changes and updating internal policies accordingly.
  • General Administration
  • Respond to compliance queries from staff and provide guidance where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance activities.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Essential
  • Based in the UK
  • Previous experience in compliance within insurance or financial services.
  • Understanding of FCA regulations and insurance market practices.
  • Strong organisational skills, including committee administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Desirable
  • Experience in wholesale international insurance.
  • Knowledge of AML/KYC frameworks and GDPR.
