​Performance Manager – Water Operations

Hours: Full Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are supporting a leading utilities organisation in the appointment of a Performance Manager to oversee the operational performance of key water treatment sites.

This role is ideal for a hands-on people manager with a background in water treatment, water hygiene, or a related utilities environment, who has a passion for improving team performance and driving operational standards.

You will play a critical role in performance, embedding best practices, and ensuring sites operate safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage operational teams across water treatment sites, ensuring high performance and accountability
  • Drive improvements in team productivity, engagement, and overall site standards
  • Identify performance gaps and implement practical solutions to improve output and efficiency
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and health & safety requirements
  • Support and develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure operational targets and service levels are achieved
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across all areas of site activity

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in a people management role within:

  • Water treatment
  • Water hygiene
  • Utilities / industrial operations
  • Demonstrable experience improving or turning around team performance
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, front-line approach
  • Good understanding of health & safety and regulatory environments
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and develop operational teams
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

Desirable

  • Experience working on or managing water treatment plants
  • Knowledge of compliance, water quality, or environmental standards
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. water hygiene, operations, H&S)
