Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in 132kV substation design. The role will primarily focus on Protection & Control systems, while also requiring a broad understanding of other substation design disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver detailed design for 132kV primary substations.
  • Lead and support Protection & Control (P&C) design activities.
  • Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, client specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design delivery.
  • Provide technical support throughout project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning.
  • Participate in design reviews and risk assessments.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in 132kV substation design.
  • Strong background in Primary Substation engineering.
  • Expertise in Protection & Control design.
  • Good understanding of broader substation design disciplines (e.g., civil, structural, electrical layouts).
  • Ability to produce and review high-quality technical documentation.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working with a Distribution Network Operator (DNO).
  • Professionally registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it.
