Our client, an independent accountancy practice, is seeking an Accounts Manager to join their friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a established practice with a good reputation for high-quality personal service. The ideal individual will have strong interpersonal skills, an outgoing personality and will work well in a small friendly team environment.
- Up to £42k dependent upon experience and qualifications (pro-rata for part time hours)
- Working hours full OR part time Monday to Friday
- Study support for the right candidate
- 23 days annual holiday plus bank holidays****(pro-rata for part time hours)
- One day a short day if full-time
- Statutory pension (enhanced after 2 years service up to 10% employer)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly / quarterly management for a portfolio of clients
- Produce profit and loss statements, balance sheets, variance analysis, and KPI reporting
- Complete budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow modelling
- Review client bookkeeping and ensure accuracy of ledgers and reconciliations
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
- Year‑end accounts preparation and liaison with auditors where required
- Support clients with accounting system implementation and process improvements
Skills and experience required:
- AAT / ACCA part qualified or QBE
- Previous practice experience completing both management and year end accounts
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, VLOOKUP)
- Experience with accounting software Xero, Quick Books, Sage desired
- Good working knowledge of accounting procedures
- Extremely organised and self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a small team
