Female Support Worker - Mental Health

Southampton

£13.75 - £14.00 per hour

Role highlights:

  • Shift patterns consist of days or nights, part-time or full-time, we are flexible on the days you work although some weekend working is essential.
  • We can only consider both drivers
  • Opportunity to complete either NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care (through work-based learning) and further progression opportunities

More about the role:

  • In this role you will need to be able to communicate and promote positive behaviour, identifying triggers in order to prevent escalations of stressful situations.
  • You must also be prepared to handle emergencies and crisis situations, using de-escalatation techniques to diffuse situations.
  • You will have an awareness of and sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and the co-occuring disorders and the how they can influence menal health and substance misuse issues.
  • You will be resilient and able to manage stress and the emotional demands of the role.
  • You should have the ability to work collaoratively with other healthcare professionals, social services and community organisations to ensure the people you support get access to a full range of support services.
