The Role
Reporting to the Head of Consents and Land, you will lead all aspects of the Project Land Strategy — negotiating commercial agreements, securing access and survey rights, managing landowner relationships, and ensuring property interests align with engineering, grid and programme requirements across a complex onshore infrastructure package.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiating and concluding land agreements for onshore cable, substation and associated infrastructure
- Securing and managing access, survey, crossing and interface agreements with landowners and third parties
- Managing external property consultants and legal advisors
- Collaborating across commercial, legal, engineering and grid teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Tracking programme, budget and risk, reporting to senior leadership
What You'll Need
- Degree in a relevant discipline plus around 7-10 years' land management experience in energy or infrastructure, ideally within offshore energy context but linear infrastructure project context is also relevant e.g. roads, pipelines etc.
- Proven land negotiation skills and an established stakeholder network in Scotland
- Strong understanding of farming and land management practice
- Experience on Scottish transmission, offshore wind or linear infrastructure projects (desirable)
- MRICS or equivalent professional membership (desirable)
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across Scotland, particularly Aberdeenshire
- Eligible to work in the UK
