FULL DESCRIPTION

Are you motivated by turning sustainability commitments into practical action? [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is/we are looking for a Project Sustainability Manager to manage sustainability delivery across two major transmission projects in Scotland. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of project execution, helping ensure that carbon, social value and environmental requirements are embedded in day-to-day delivery.

What you’ll do

As the sustainability lead for two large Scottish transmission projects, you will:

  • Deliver sustainability commitments, ensuring carbon, social value and environmental requirements are translated into practical project actions.
  • Develop and maintain Carbon Management Plans and Social Value Plans, and ensure project teams have the right data, tools and governance in place.
  • Oversee forecasting, reporting and compliance, providing clear and professional updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enable robust sustainability execution through effective documentation, engagement, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Build productive relationships with Project Managers, Installation Managers, Engineering, QHSE, Supply Chain, site teams, clients, auditors and contractors.

What you bring

We’re looking for someone who can effectively lead sustainability delivery within complex infrastructure environments.

Your background may include:

  • Experience in project delivery or tendering within energy, utilities, construction, or major infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of carbon management, social value, sustainability reporting or compliance frameworks (CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, LCA, Scope 1–3, circularity, biodiversity).
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, initiative, ability to manage change, and professional communication.
  • A relevant degree, with sustainability expertise as your core area of skill (HSE experience is beneficial but not essential).

Where you’ll work

This role is UK based with a focus on major transmission projects in Scotland.
A hybrid working model is available, with regular travel required to project sites in North of Scotland.
