The Role
We're looking for an exceptional Commercial Project Manager to join [Employer hidden]'s fast-growing commercial operation. This is a high-impact, fluid role for someone who thrives on pace and strong execution. You'll be the foundation of our commercial function - the person who ensures everything runs smoothly whilst continuously looking for ways to innovate and simplify how we work.
You'll drive critical commercial projects end-to-end, working across Category Management, Merchandising, and Supply Chain to deliver improvements that directly impact our P&L and customer experience. This role suits someone who can take a brief, break it into workstreams, and deliver results without needing hand-holding
What You Will Do
Commercial Operations
- Support the complete SKU lifecycle: supplier onboarding, additions and depletions across our systems.
- Continuously improve and automate our commercial processes - you'll look for manual tasks that can be streamlined and take the initiative to implement solutions.
- Proactively drive efficiency, identifying discrepancies and proposing solutions to help streamline product maintenance (price management, product codes, pack size change, barcodes etc) across our large and growing catalogue.
- Support category managers with cost-saving initiatives and negotiation preparation materials.
Merchandising & Platform Refinement
- Own how our products are presented on the app and website - ensuring SKUs are merchandised optimally for customer experience.
- Work with Marketing and Product teams to enhance the look and feel of our digital platform, including category layouts, featured products, and promotional placements.
- Optimise SKU presentation through compelling imagery, accurate descriptions, and strategic positioning.
- Partner with Marketing to ensure seasonal and promotional merchandising meets customer demand whilst maintaining brand consistency.
- Continuously test and refine our app features and merchandising approach based on customer behaviour and commercial performance.
Marketplace Optimisation
- Supporting the Marketplaces team with [Employer hidden]'s presence on third-party platforms (Deliveroo, Uber Eats), ensuring competitive positioning.
- Setting up and executing promotions across marketplace channels while coordinating with category managers on strategy and margins.
- Analysing marketplace data to identify sales opportunities, pricing optimisation, and merchandising improvements.
- Working across teams to maximise market share while maintaining [Employer hidden]'s premium positioning and profitability.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Own and deliver projects to streamline commercial operations - from scoping the problem, to designing solutions, to implementation and adoption.
- Map existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and build the business case for change
- Create and maintain trackers, dashboards, and documentation that give the team visibility and control.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Product, Tech, and Supply Chain to deliver system improvements.
- Establish SOPs and playbooks that enable the team to scale without adding headcount.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years in a commercially-focused role such as category management, buying, merchandising, or a project-based role like management consulting (ideally in retail, FMCG or e-commerce).
- Strong execution mindset and exceptional project management abilities: proven track record of managing multiple concurrent workstreams with competing deadlines and priorities.
- Strong analytical skills: confident building business cases, and extracting insights from data to drive decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) or Microsoft Excel; experience with Looker is desirable.
- High-energy self-starter with exceptional attention to detail: You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, making quick decisions with imperfect information while maintaining meticulous accuracy and spotting problems before they escalate.
- Tenacious communicator who gets things done: You influence stakeholders at all levels, push back when needed, and maintain a hands-on mentality with natural prioritisation and urgency - always finding solutions rather than roadblocks.
Benefits
- Competitive salary & equity package.
- Enjoy 25 days of holiday per year (plus all bank holidays).
- Private Health Insurance.
- Extended sick pay and maternity/paternity leave pay.
- Cycle to work scheme.
