About the Role

As a Level 3 Residential Support Worker, you’ll be supporting children and young people in a home environment – not just supervising, but actively helping them develop skills for life.

You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, structured and nurturing environment, where young people can grow in confidence and feel secure.

Some days will be challenging, particularly when supporting young people through emotional difficulties. You will always be working as part of a team that supports each other ensuring consistency of care across the day and night.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building positive, consistent relationships with young people
  • Spending quality time building trust and positive relationships
  • Working closely with colleagues, families and professionals
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and life skills
  • Supporting morning and evening daily routines (meals, activities, bedtime)
  • Transitioning young people to school, appointments and activities
  • Taking part in activities, outings and community engagement
  • Supporting young people through challenging behaviours in a calm and safe way
  • Maintaining accurate records and following care plans

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
  • Experience working with children or young people in a similar environment
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Someone who values teamwork, consistency and high-quality care
  • Strong communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence – desirable
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and positive outcomes
