About the Role:
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong understanding of primary school pedagogy and curriculum expectations. As the English Lead, you will drive high-quality teaching and learning in English throughout the school and nursery, ensuring that all pupils develop a strong foundation in reading, writing, and spoken language.

…As an English Subject Lead
We are looking for someone who can:
- Provide strategic leadership for English (Writing, SPAG and Reading) across the school
- Champion a love of reading and writing for all pupils
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of Writing, SPAG and Reading teaching and learning, using data to drive improvement
- Support colleagues through coaching, guidance, and the sharing of best practice
- Lead training and initiatives that strengthen the school’s English provision
- Ensure curriculum coverage is coherent, ambitious, and aligned with whole‑school priorities
- Keep up to date with national developments in English and use this to inform school practice
- Coordinate resources, interventions, and enrichment opportunities related to English
