The Employment and Skills Team are moving into a new phase of delivery with the introduction of new programmes of employment support and this has created opportunities for us to add to our delivery team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Outreach & Engagement Senior Officer to lead the Outreach & Engagement team in promoting our services to local people and supporting them to move into employment, education or training through intensive support, including the new Connect to Work programme.

The Role

You will play a key role in changing the lives of Solihull residents by helping them to secure employment, apprenticeships, or training. You will be working in a small friendly team, at the Solihull Recruitment and Training Centre in Chelmsley Wood with the opportunity to work flexibly at other locations around the Borough.

You will deliver high quality employment support by providing tailored, one-to-one, and small group interventions to residents facing barriers to work including care experienced young people, ex-offenders and people with disabilities, mental health conditions, or long-term health issues supporting them into sustainable paid employment or training

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Relevant qualification at Level 4 (or equivalent)  or the ability to demonstrate through extended experience, the necessary knowledge to carry out the full range of duties.
  • Experience of leading a team to achieve objectives.
  • Experience of working in partnership with Internal and external stakeholders to achieve joint objectives.
  • Ability to manage and direct a team to achieve service delivery.
  • Previous experience of supporting engagement activity to influence service outcomes.
  • Experience of working across different organisations and sectors.
