About the role
As our Principal Environmental Health Officer you’ll take the lead in delivering service improvements, enhancing professional standards, consistency, and customer outcomes across Regulation and Safety.
You’ll give day to day operational direction and co-ordination to our first line supervisors, making sure teams are operating collaboratively to achieve the strategic objectives of the service while acting as a mentor, identifying training needs and undertaking appraisals.
Alongside this you’ll be doing variety of inspections and surveys covering areas such as Food, Pollution, Housing or Health and Safety, Environmental Crime, Nuisance and Anti Social Behaviour and investigation of complaints/nuisances and other environmental health matters.
About you
You’ll be an experienced Environmental Health Officer with or working towards EHORB. You’ll have experience of enforcement investigations, interventions and enforcements with a deep understanding of how to use intelligence to solve problems and address community concerns.
Experience of supervising, mentoring and training other staff is also desirable.
