What is the job role?

This Town Planner role contributes to a high-quality, customer-focused planning service by managing a wide range of minor and other planning applications, providing professional advice, representing the Council in committees and appeals, and supporting sustainable growth across the city. The role involves giving pre-application guidance, contributing to policy and process improvements, handling planning enforcement matters, and working collaboratively with internal teams, elected members, residents, and external stakeholders to ensure effective, compliant and timely planning outcomes.
