Are you passionate about improving outcomes for children and families? Do you have strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and experience working with children, young people or families? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We are seeking a motivated and child centred Elective Home Education (EHE) Case Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Local Authority’s statutory duties around Elective Home Education and to work directly with families to help ensure every child receives a suitable and efficient education.

As an EHE Case Officer, you will play a key role in supporting our EHE Advisory Teachers by:

  • Gathering and reviewing information from families to support assessments.
  • Preparing reports, letters and documentation to a high standard.
  • Maintaining accurate and secure case records and data systems.
  • Supporting home visits and ensuring lone working procedures are followed.
  • Liaising with schools, internal teams and partner agencies to support statutory and safeguarding processes.
  • Providing clear advice, guidance and signposting to parents.
  • Contributing to multi agency meetings and information sharing.
  • Supporting low level casework and routine monitoring under the direction of the EHE Advisory Teachers.

This role requires strong organisation, excellent communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children, young people or families.
  • Can communicate clearly, calmly and confidently with a wide range of people.
  • Is able to gather, interpret and organise information effectively.
  • Can produce high quality written work and maintain accurate records.
  • Works with empathy, professionalism and a child centred approach.
  • Is confident using IT systems and digital tools.
  • Understands (or is willing to learn about) Elective Home Education, safeguarding and relevant statutory guidance.
  • Can manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
