The Education Commissioning Team are seeking an enthusiastic and organised person to take on the role of Commissioning Support Officer.

You will join a friendly, hardworking and committed team with a passion to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

You will support the process for gaining housing development contributions to fund the development of new specialist school places (Section 106 funding). You will also have a key role in analysing data on the capacity of special school places and forecasting future needs. This is a new post which will provide a great opportunity for you to develop this area of work.

This is a hybrid working role.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

  • Providing administrative support for the process of requesting section 106 funding for school places for children and young people with special education needs and/or disabilities (SEND) .
  • Tracking all housing developments submitted across Staffordshire.
  • Gathering, collating and analysing data on the capacity within specialist education settings and future needs.
  • Responding to Local Planning Authorities in relation to Section 106 funding requests.
  • Organising meetings.
  • Supporting the completion of the annual school capacity survey for specialist provision.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • good administrative skills,
  • excellent competency with excel,
  • data analysis skills, are a good communicator,
  • able to use your initiative, and
  • most importantly want to help improve outcomes for children and young people we want you to hear from you.
