The Governors and staff of [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] are seeking to appoint an inspirational and experienced leader for the role of Deputy to work as part of our dynamic and forward-thinking leadership team following the retirement of our long standing and successful Deputy Headteacher (August 2026).
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed leader to play a key role in shaping the future direction of our school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher, Governors, leadership team and teaching teams to maintain and further develop the school’s strong inclusive ethos, high standards of teaching and learning, and caring environment. We are looking for an inspirational practitioner with a proven track record of leadership, a passion for school improvement, a keen interest in supporting the most vulnerable learners (e.g. SEND, disadvantaged, those who have experienced social care) and who will promote an inclusive curriculum which challenges pupils of all abilities in a flexible, yet structured way, as well as the ability to motivate and support staff and pupils alike.

We promote cultural, spiritual, moral, personal, social, and intellectual development within the context of a happy school community, which includes a small local authority assigned visual impairment (VI) base. Our new Deputy Headteacher will:
- have experience of working at leadership level within a school setting
- have a proven track record of high-quality teaching and learning within the primary age range
- be forward thinking, innovative and highly energetic
- need the passion to drive inclusive provision that encourages our pupils and staff to achieve way beyond their expectations
- have an in-depth knowledge of current educational priorities, curriculum, assessment, inclusion, pedagogy and safeguarding
- have experience of promoting equality, inclusion and diversity, including a working knowledge of the code of practice
- be able to demonstrate a proven track record of leading a team of highly motivated, caring and professional staff
- be someone who aspires to be a role model for our children who enjoy coming to school each day
- be able to work well as part of our whole school team and school community
