Job Details

St Martin’s really is a special place to be. We are a one-form entry Church of England primary school serving the diverse community of Tipton. We are extremely proud of our warm, caring and inclusive ethos, where every child is known, valued and supported to achieve both academically and personally. We are a school where everyone is encouraged and supported to reach their full potential.

Our commitment to inclusion is at the heart of all we do and has been recognised through achieving the Sandwell Inclusion Quality Mark for Cognition and Learning (July 2025).

We are now seeking to appoint a skilled, nurturing and suitably qualified EYFS Learning Support Practitioner to join our hardworking team on a permanent basis. We are looking for someone whose values strongly align with those of our school community and who is committed to inclusive, child-centred practice. The post will initially be based within our Nursery setting, which is well known within the local community for its caring and inclusive nature, offering a welcoming environment where positive relationships and high-quality early learning are prioritised. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of early childhood development and a passion for supporting young children, including those with additional and complex needs.

“The St Martin’s school community values every child and adult for who they are. This inclusive ethos drives the school to nurture pupils and adults to be their best. It is a school where all flourish as part of a family.” (SIAMS, March 2024)

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • *Share our Christian ethos and school values and demonstrate these consistently in practice
  • *Hold a relevant EYFS qualification (e.g. Level 3 Early Years or equivalent)
  • *Have experience working within Early Years with a secure understanding of the EYFS Framework
  • *Have experience supporting children with a range of needs, including intimate care where required.
  • *Be calm, patient, caring and nurturing
  • *Be skilled in supporting learning through play using high quality interactions, as well as through small-group interventions and 1:1 support
  • *Be flexible, proactive and an effective team member
  • *Have high expectations of themselves and others

We Can Offer:

  • *Wonderful, friendly, hardworking children who are proud of their school
  • *A school where staff enjoy working and appreciate leaders’ efforts to reduce workload (Ofsted, October 2022)
  • *A welcoming, supportive and dedicated staff team
  • *High-quality professional development and opportunities to share best practice
  • *A safe, nurturing environment in which to grow professionally
