Title: Early Years Advisory Teacher

Grade/Salary: Teacher + UPS TLR2A

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 27.5 Weekly

Location: 160 Beeches Road West Bromwich B70 6HQ

Job Summary:

  • •Promote and embed priorities of Sandwell Metropolitan Council as set out in the Council Plan.
  • •Lead on narrowing the gap in educational achievement through data analysis and targeted action planning.
  • •Support children’s school readiness through transition work with Schools, Settings and Family Hubs.
  • •Develop quality Early Years provision across the borough.
  • •Work collaboratively within Family Hubs to strengthen early childhood development.

Essential requirements for the role:

  • •Qualified Teacher Status with formal teaching qualification.
  • •Experience leading and managing EYFS delivery in a senior school role.
  • •Strong multi-agency partnership working experience.
  • •Experience collating and analysing Early Years data.
  • •Ability to motivate and inspire Early Years practitioners.

In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening the Early Years workforce across Sandwell by modelling exemplary practice, delivering high‑quality training, and supporting providers to meet statutory EYFS and Ofsted requirements. You will champion high‑quality Early Years provision by providing expert guidance, monitoring standards, and leading targeted improvement work with schools, private and voluntary settings, childminders, and Family Hubs.

The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills to interpret Early Years data, support strategic planning, and drive improved outcomes for children—particularly those from disadvantaged groups. You will work collaboratively within multi‑agency networks, building trusted relationships with families, practitioners, and partners to ensure children receive the best possible start in life.

You will also be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barring List Check
