Junior Engineer

were looking for a junior engineer to join us on our journey ready to dive in and stir things up?

what we need |

an experienced engineer to manage and maintain food production equipment, maintain a high standard food factor and to make sure all procedures and standards are being followed and any issues are either dealt with or escalated

48 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with rotating morning and afternoon shifts. 06:00 - 16:00 and 13:00 - 23:00 (flexible, as shifts can extend or shorten) depending on demand

what you’ll do |

  • ensure all equipment and fabrication is maintained in a cost effective and timely manner that does not pose risks to product, staff, contractors, visitors or members of the public
  • responsibility for contractors on site to ensure all food safety and health & safety procedures are always adhered to.
  • completion of maintenance records in accordance with the maintenance procedure and plan.
  • control of spare parts, tools, PPE & equipment
  • hygiene & housekeeping regarding maintenance room and other maintenance and equipment storage areas
  • promote best working practice on site including goods in, stores and packing.
  • ensure health & safety standards are maintained throughout the site
  • ensure effective staff training regarding equipment
  • establish and maintain a good working relationship with site team at all levels.
  • taking on tasks + projects which have been agreed by the production manager

what you’ll need |

  • food manufacturing or similar background
  • an engineering related qualification and/or undergoing an apprenticeship
  • able to work proactively & flexibly to ensure timely completion of planned maintenance including emergency call outs and repairs.
  • reliable, trustworthy & level headed.
  • good analytical skills & excellent eye for detail
  • team player
  • able to challenge the status quo
