Job DutiesJOB DESCRIPTION:
- Under direct supervision, trains and becomes familiar with the company’s Laboratory Safety Management System and current HSE laboratory safety standards.
- Follows all prescribed safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable company guidelines and procedures, when performing assigned duties.
- Performs prototype or laboratory tests in accordance with established procedures and applicable company guidelines/ requirements.
- Works primarily with mechanical testing equipment to support product and materials testing.
- Learns to maintain and calibrate equipment and to perform basic material or environmental tests using standard electrical/electronic, chemical, and mechanical techniques.
- Learns to accurately document test data for reporting purposes using the company database.
- Performs hands on laboratory tasks, including standing for extended periods, and safely lifting, carrying, or moving equipment and materials as required.
- Maintains files and documentation related to test equipment and associated test results.
- Job tasks, when performed correctly, have minimal impact on the overall viability of the organization.
- Skills typically acquired through eight (8) hours of college level chemistry coursework (preferred).
- Participation in the company competency development system is required.
- Overtime and on call / weekend work will be required once training is complete.
