Join our team at Devondale, a respected independent builder’s merchant serving the Southwest since 1981. We’re expanding our delivery team at our Torquay Branch and are looking for a dependable Branch Assistant to help us continue delivering excellent service to our trade and retail customers.

The Role

We are looking for a Branch Assistant in our Torquay Devondale Torquay, branch. This position would be ideal for anyone who is currently or has recently worked in a similar sales environment ideally. In-house training for all computer and technical aspects of this role will be provided. You’ll need to be able to deliver excellent customer service.

Requirements

The Requirements

• Consistently generate profitable sales for the branch, via the telephone and at the trade counter by effectively using a range of techniques and resources
• ​Manage customer queries in relation to invoices, orders or stock.
• ​Understand the customer cycle by proactively targeting new customers and developing them into consistent live trading accounts.
• Be flexible to carry out various tasks and activities to support the effective running of the branch including being in the stores, telesales and trade counter sales.
• Utilising IT systems including Microsoft Office to support the customer experience.
• Supporting in other areas of the branch as required.
• Experience of working within a trade counter.
• To be customer centric with a customer service/retail/store background.
• To demonstrate proactive sales via phone and face-to-face.
• To have had experience of working in a fast-paced role, whilst maintaining a consistent eye for detail.
• A flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure.
• An ability to recognise sales opportunities.
• An ability to embrace change and new technologies.

The Hours

Monday to Friday 07:30-17:00
