Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals within care homes and providing personalised home care services. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives by delivering high-quality care and assistance. The role requires excellent communication skills, organisational ability, and a caring attitude to ensure the wellbeing and comfort of those under your care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
  • Support clients in adhering to personalised care plans tailored to their individual needs
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
  • Assist with medication management as per care plans (training provided if necessary)
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Support clients with light domestic tasks such as meal preparation and light housekeeping
  • Drive or accompany clients on outings or appointments as required (driving preferred but not essential)

Experience

  • Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
  • Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
  • Good IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
