Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in maintenance, This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure the smooth operation of our facilities while providing excellent customer service and leadership within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Carry out day-to-day general maintenance and reactive repairs across all SNAK and Rocket McDonald’s restaurants.
  • • Undertake basic plumbing tasks including fixing leaks, replacing taps, repairing toilets, and unblocking drains.
  • • Complete painting and decorating works — from full wall refreshes to minor touch-ups and finishes.
  • • Repair or replace damaged tiles, grout, or sealant in kitchens, lobbies, and toilets.
  • • Carry out basic carpentry including repairing doors, hinges, locks, shelving, wall fixings, skirting boards, and furniture.
  • • Perform minor plastering and filling to repair cracks or damaged walls.
  • • Maintain and repair fixtures and fittings, including signage, menu boards, and customer furniture.
  • • Support with external maintenance — including minor fence, gate, or paving repairs, jet washing, painting railings, and upkeep of bin areas.
  • • Conduct routine maintenance checks on doors, hinges, floor edging, handles, toilets, and general safety hazards.
  • • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to reduce future issues (e.g. sealing gaps, tightening fittings, replacing worn components).
  • • Maintain safe and tidy maintenance storage areas and ensure all tools and materials are secure.
  • • Assist with minor refurbishments and restaurant refresh projects as required.
  • • Assemble and install furniture, fittings, or small equipment when needed.
  • • Perform silicone sealing around sinks, counters, and windows where necessary.
  • • Carry out pressure washing, signage cleaning, and exterior painting to maintain kerb appeal.
  • • Record and report all works completed, noting any larger jobs requiring specialist contractors.
  • • Work safely at all times, following SNAK/Rocket’s and McDonald’s Health & Safety policies and maintaining a clean working environment.
  • • Support the restaurant teams by identifying ongoing maintenance priorities across the estate.
  • • Respond promptly and professionally to urgent maintenance requests from restaurant managers.

Skills & Experience Required

  • • Proven experience in a general maintenance, handyman, or facilities role (commercial or multi-site preferred).
  • • Strong knowledge of painting, plumbing, tiling, basic carpentry, plastering, and general repairs.
  • • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple sites efficiently.
  • • Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • • Reliable, punctual, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • • Good communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.
  • • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • • Flexibility to travel across all SNAK and Rocket McDonald’s locations as required.
