Healthcare Assistant
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Hospital Kemple Viewis looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join the team. We have a Rehabilitation and recovery (R&R) 34 beds, males, and a Secure56 beds, male, 18+. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours a week. Located in Blackburn, Lancashire, [Employer hidden] Hospital Kemple View is a 90-bedded hospital, offering level 2 rehabilitation, and secure services, for adult males. We can support people with a mental health condition and/or a personality disorder.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
- Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
- Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
- Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. The candidate should be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or GCSEs in Mathematics and English and have basic IT literacy. They must understand the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. No specific prior experience is required for the role. The position involves frequent interaction with staff, patients, and visitors on the ward, requiring the regular exchange of routine information both in person and over the telephone. Strong observational and listening skills are essential to effectively monitor and support the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of patients.
