FULL DESCRIPTION

Principal Psychologist

We are looking for a Principal Psychologist to join the team at [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Lichfield Road on a full-time basis, working 5 days per week. Based in Walsall, West Midlands, [Employer hidden] Lichfield Road is a rehabilitation service offering both level 1 and 2 care, all set within a modern, purpose-built centre. It is specifically designed to support both males and females who have severe, complex and enduring mental health needs, which might include treatment-resistant conditions.

What you'll be doing

You will work independently and make autonomous decisions, while being prepared to discuss complex issues with the Head of Psychology when needed. The role requires strong communication with the psychology team, wider clinical team, and multidisciplinary colleagues. You will use your experience and clinical knowledge to solve problems effectively, alongside bringing a creative approach to facilitating therapy sessions. You will also be supported by an Assistant Psychologist once recruited.

The recruitment process will consist of a two-stage interview, with a panel including the Hospital Director, Director of Clinical Services, and a Psychologist.

They are seeking an experienced clinician with a strong background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside training in at least two additional therapeutic approaches, including one evidence-based intervention. The role requires experience working with complex clients, delivering high-level interventions, conducting psychological assessments, and providing clinical supervision. Candidates should also have leadership and management experience, and a commitment to maintaining ongoing professional development in line with HCPC, BPS, and organisational standards.
