FULL DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Bilston Area

Pay Rate: £17.70 per hour

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (38 hours per week)

General Role:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in the Bilston area for a Maintenance Engineer. This role is responsible for managing engineering resources on a daily basis to ensure all production functions operate efficiently, maximising uptime and meeting customer requirements.

You will also be responsible for carrying out repairs to buildings and non-production equipment, organising contractor work, and supporting wider company objectives while maintaining compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with CNC and PLC machinery, rotary flatbed die-cutting presses, horizontal splitting machines, and slitter/rewind lamination

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement Preventive and Autonomous Maintenance
  • Provide engineering support across group companies when required
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Identify and report issues or unsafe practices promptly
  • Minimise production costs and waste
  • Evaluate equipment performance and implement improvements
  • Recommend and support process improvements
  • Manage external contractors and service providers
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in line with company standards
  • Manage spare parts planning and inventory
  • Ensure machinery and site services operate safely at all times

Learning & Development:

  • Attend training sessions to support development
  • Participate in regular reviews with management

Additional Duties:

  • Carry out any other duties as required
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Maintain and manage the company maintenance vehicle
