FULL DESCRIPTION
Lead the governance behind life‑changing medical innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring it is structured, skilled, and empowered to support project delivery across all product portfolios.
- Own and maintain the Design Control procedure, embedding best practices and compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Drive governance for all product development projects, ensuring consistency in planning, documentation, reporting, and risk management.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and early identification of dependencies, risks, and resource needs.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with market needs and corporate objectives.
- Provide clear communication to senior leadership on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the PMO, strengthening processes, tools, and delivery discipline.
- Establish and maintain high-quality project documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support strategic planning by contributing insights on resource needs, portfolio risk, and delivery capacity.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Proven experience managing complex product development projects within regulated industries.
- Strong ability to structure, prioritize, and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Confident communicator capable of translating complex project information for stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience building and developing high-performing teams.
Qualifications:
- Degree-level education preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Project management experience with demonstrated success delivering complex projects.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile are desirable.
- Experience managing teams is a plus.
A Day in the Life:
No two days in this role are the same. You may start your day reviewing project dashboards, analyzing risks, and preparing updates for leadership meetings. Later, you might lead a cross-functional workshop to resolve design challenges or align on key milestones. Afternoons could involve refining resource plans with Product Management and R&D, coaching team members, or improving PMO processes to enhance delivery discipline across the business.
