What You Will Learn...
Throughout the apprenticeship, you will benefit from a blended approach to learning, combining practical, on-the-job experience with structured off-the-job training. You will gain:
- A comprehensive understanding of commercial vehicle components and their functions.
- Knowledge of manufacturer parts catalogues and electronic inventory management systems
- Skills in effective stock control, ordering, and supplier coordination
- Customer service and communication techniques tailored to the automotive and commercial vehicle sectors.
The Challenge...
Under the supervision of our experienced professionals, you will be responsible for…
- Assist customers and colleagues with parts enquiries, providing accurate and helpful information
- Use manufacturer catalogues and internal systems to identify and supply the correct vehicle parts
- Process parts orders and maintain accurate records
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to source and distribute parts efficiently
- Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory checks, and manage incoming deliveries
- Maintain high standards of customer service, both face-to-face and over the telephone
- Stay informed of product updates, industry developments, and technological advancements
What We're Looking For...
We are seeking an individual who will demonstrate the following…
- A strong interest in commercial vehicles and the automotive sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and motivated attitude, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A commitment to learning and professional development
- Previous experience is not required. However, a basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and components and a full driver’s licence would be advantageous.
Entry Requirements
This apprenticeship concludes with a formal End-Point Assessment, which includes:
- Knowledge and behaviours test:Assessing understanding through structured and scenario-based questions
- Written Assessment: A 60-minute test featuring short answer and scenario-based questions
Both components are equally weighted and must be passed to complete the apprenticeship successfully.
