[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking an SEO Editor to lead the development of its SEO strategy, focusing on organic search, content optimization, and driving sign-ups to [Employer hidden] Club. The role involves analyzing trends, collaborating with the newsroom, and implementing strategies to improve traffic and engagement.

Your role: [Employer hidden] is looking for a talented individual to help lead the development of [Employer hidden]’s SEO strategy in a world of AI.
Day to day you will:
- Help grow organic search, Discover and Google News on all four of [Employer hidden]’s domains - thesun.co.uk / the-sun.com / thescottishsun.co.uk / thesun.ie
- Assist with optimising [Employer hidden]’s content for large language models
- Help drive sign-ups to [Employer hidden] Club ([Employer hidden]’s premium content offering)
- Help to lead [Employer hidden]’s trending content output
- Contribute to [Employer hidden]’s live blog strategy
- Feed into [Employer hidden]’s forward planning meetings
- Contribute to SEO strategy for specific sections
- Analyse and report back to the newsroom on SEO successes and failures
- Perform competitor analysis and identify opportunities to improve and overtake in key markets
- Be aware of algorithmic changes and developments and help recommend actions to relevant teams
- Communicate with the newsroom on big breaking stories
- Be a point of contact for journalists and reporters seeking SEO advice
What we’re looking for from you:
- Strong understanding of daily news trends, as well as what is working long-term
- Good relationships and strong communication with the different section heads
- Be agile: Fast-moving and quick to flag emerging and declining trends
- Ability to implement ideas and strategies to help overall traffic growth
- Understanding of SEO tools in the newsroom and ability to use them to maximum effect
- Passion for news and digital journalism is a must
- A background in digital journalism would be preferred
- Good team player
- Some technical SEO knowledge would be a bonus
