We are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Lead to support a local authority in Surrey on an interim contract. This role will lead adult social care commissioning, provide strategic direction, and work closely with key stakeholders to drive service delivery and improvement.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Lead to support a local authority in Surrey on an interim contract. This role will lead adult social care commissioning, provide strategic direction, and work closely with key stakeholders to drive service delivery and improvement.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning strategy and delivery for adult social care services.
  • Manage contract design, procurement, and performance monitoring.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement and transformation activity.

About You / Experience

  • Proven experience in a Head of Commissioning or equivalent senior commissioning role.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in adult social care commissioning.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in partnership working across health, social care, and providers.

Skills & Requirements

Essential:

  • Senior commissioning experience with strategic planning and contract oversight.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience implementing a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).
  • Local government or public sector experience.
