Position Overview

  • Providing Personalized Care: Offering individualised care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Promoting Independence: Encouraging and facilitating the development of life skills and independence among residents.
  • Creating a Safe Environment: Maintaining a safe and clean-living environment, following all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Implementing Care Plans: Collaborating with the care team to implement and monitor individual care plans.
  • Supporting Educational Goals: Assisting young people in accessing educational opportunities and supporting their learning and development.
  • Building Positive Relationships: Establishing and maintaining positive and respectful relationships with children, their families, and external professionals.
  • Documentation: Keeping accurate records and recording any incidents, following company policies.
  • Crisis Intervention: Responding to crisis situations calmly and effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Compassion, patience, and empathy.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends.
