Stephen James Consulting continues to work with one of their established non-profit providers in the search for a Deputy Home Manager for a medium-sized nursing home based in West Sussex.

This is a key leadership opportunity within a stable and well-supported service. The home benefits from a strong and experienced Home Manager and is now seeking to appoint a confident, clinically credible deputy to lead on nursing standards, governance, and day-to-day clinical oversight.

This is a largely supernumerary role, allowing you to focus on clinical leadership, quality improvement, audits, and team development rather than being counted within the staffing numbers.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Home Manager with the operational and clinical leadership of the service
  • Leading, mentoring and developing the nursing team
  • Overseeing care planning, medication management, and clinical compliance
  • Driving audits, governance processes, and CQC readiness
  • Promoting a strong, person-centred culture across the home

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Active NMC PIN (RGN or RMN)
  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or strong Clinical Lead within a nursing home setting
  • Solid knowledge of CQC regulations and clinical governance
  • Confident leadership skills and the ability to support and develop a nursing team

The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, offering £50,000–£51,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
