Lead Data Analyst - Treasury (FX Markets)

The role involves curating datasets, performing statistical modeling, and influencing company decisions. Responsibilities include analyzing FX P&L, optimizing rate services, developing hedging strategies, and supporting the Cash and Asset Management team. The ideal candidate has 4-7 years of experience, strong SQL and analytical skills, and experience in FX or financial markets.

Job Description

Due to continued and rapid growth we’re on the hunt for a Lead Data Analyst to join our FX Markets team in Shoreditch, London. You’ll be part of a team that fundamentally powers the [Employer hidden] product and mission!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Your principal responsibility will be to make an impact and lead us to better decisions for the company and our customers
  • Curating datasets, surfacing metrics, statistical modelling, and deeper dive analysis that we expect to influence the direction of the team and the company
  • Depending on the project you’re working on, you’ll be doing the following:
  • Helping us understand what’s driving our FX P&L and trading costs (hedging and cash management).
  • Helping us optimise our rate service, to ensure we are offering the most accurate mid market rates to our customers. 
  • Helping us develop better hedging and trading strategies, as well as risk models, which should help us minimise FX risk and costs.
  • Supporting our Cash and Asset Management (CAM) team to optimise the risk-return of our investments portfolio.
  • Working with other Product teams in order to support new products and features from Treasury’s perspective.

Who you are:

  • 4-7 years experience in similar roles
  • Mathematical background
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Python/R
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Decent understanding of stats and statistical modelling
  • Data visualisation and storytelling ability
  • Ability to self organise and manage stakeholders
  • Demonstration of impact/going above and beyond basic role requirements

Desirable

  • FX or financial markets experience
  • DBT
  • Data modelling in a warehouse context
  • Understanding of testing and experimental design
  • Legally authorised to work in the UK
