What we're looking for?

The Earthworks Plant Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy plant and machinery across demolition, civils, bulk earthworks, civil engineering, and land remediation projects. The role involves excavation, ground preparation, material handling, site clearance, and remediation activities in accordance with drawings, method statements, RAMS, and environmental controls. The operative works as part of a multidisciplinary site team to deliver works safely, efficiently, and to specification, while maintaining high standards of health & safety, environmental compliance, plant care, and site housekeeping at all times.

Working generally within around 80-mile radius of Stonehouse (GL10 3AQ).

Responsibilities for the job role:

  • Driving any plant/equipment as directed by the employer or third party
  • Washing, greasing, and general maintenance of any plant/equipment at any time allocated to you by the employer
  • Observe all health and safety requirements and instructions at the site
  • Ensure the work is carried out within the deadlines, safely and efficiently, and to relay information accurately to the customer/Site Supervisor
  • Wear the appropriate PPE
  • To follow all instruction and direction from the customer or site supervisor
  • Carry out best practice and safe working practices
  • Report any near accident or potential of an accident
  • Perform testing procedures to ensure that machines work optimally during the working process
