Livestock Instructor

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] group is looking for a Livestock Instructor to join our Agriculture Department at Berkshire College of Agriculture team to cover maternity on a part time fixed term basis starting in September 2025. The Livestock Instructor position is primarily focused on enhancing the learning experiences of students in agriculture, particularly in practical competence related to livestock.

Livestock Instructor

The position of Livestock Instructor is a fixed term Maternity Cover until July 2026. The role involves working 24 hours per week on a term-time only contract (40 weeks worked per year). This position has a start date of September 2025

The Livestock Instructor position is primarily focused on enhancing the learning experiences of students in agriculture, particularly in practical competence related to livestock.

Reporting to the Head of Agriculture, the instructor will be responsible for demonstrating, instructing, and assessing learners within the agriculture curriculum, managing livestock, and maintaining high standards of animal welfare.

You should be competent in the handling, control and management of various livestock species found in farming within the UK.

The instructor will ensure safety and compliance with college regulations, particularly in health and safety protocols. Common responsibilities across all staff include maintaining professional competence, engaging in training, and ensuring a discrimination-free environment.

The job requires a recognized qualification in a relevant specialization, strong practical skills in livestock management, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. The position might require remote work and adheres strictly to the college's risk management and health and safety policies.
