Careers Adviser

Slough & Langley College is seeking a dynamic, empathetic Careers Adviser to join our dedicated team. This role involves more than giving advice; it's about inspiring students from all walks of life – from our main FE cohort to our adult ESOL learners – to confidently navigate their educational and career paths and contribute to transformative success stories.

Careers Adviser

You'll be at the heart of our students' development, providing impartial and tailored careers information, advice, and guidance. This includes:

  • Empowering Diverse Learners: Delivering one-to-one advice and engaging group workshops to a wide range of students, including vulnerable groups and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Shaping Pathways: Supporting students with their career aspirations by organising impactful career talks and developing a range of activities that open doors to new possibilities.
  • Navigating Apprenticeships: Leading engaging workshops to demystify the apprenticeship process, guiding students through the application journey, and highlighting diverse opportunities.
  • Driving Excellence: Contributing to the college's achievement of the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks by ensuring all delivery evidence is complete and compliant with quality standards
  • Creating Opportunities: Collaborating with departments to implement and deliver a comprehensive programme of student careers and employability activities. This includes university visits, HE fairs, Careers Fairs, recruitment and employer workshops, guest speakers, Skills Weeks, and internal progression days.
