Industry Placement Adviser

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] group is looking for an Industry Placement Advisor to join our Student Services team at Slough and Langley College on a permanent full-time basis. The core purpose of the job is to assist students in developing necessary employability skills and securing meaningful industry placements that comply with college and awarding body requirements.

As an Industry Placement Advisor, you will be using your knowledge of various industry sectors to provide a multi-faceted approach to enhancing student employability. The core purpose of the job is to assist students in developing necessary employability skills and securing meaningful industry placements that comply with college and awarding body requirements.

To achieve this core purpose, we are looking for someone who will excel at establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with local enterprises, the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), and other significant stakeholders, alongside supporting the college's career programs and implementing a robust Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) strategy.

The daily responsibilities of an Industry Placement Advisor will include but not be limited to ensuring the delivery of high-quality placement, career, and employability programs across the college, maintaining up-to-date policy documentation, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding standards. The advisor is also expected to stay current with governmental policies affecting careers and placements, visit employers to evaluate placement quality, and manage external organizational relationships.

As you will be working with external employers you will be expected to travel to their location and meet with them in their place of work. As a result, it is essential criteria that the successful candidate holds a full manual UK drivers’ licence. Please note that the college does have a fleet of vehicles for official use, but it would be beneficial if you also have access to your own car.
