Our store   

Based in the heart of Tunbridge Wells, our busy [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] store sits in a prime high‑street location right by the town’s clock tower, placing it at the centre of a vibrant retail area. With excellent public transport links, the store is just a short walk from Tunbridge Wells train station and is served by multiple frequent bus routes, making commuting simple and convenient. As a well‑established store offering a full range of optical and audiology services, including eye tests, contact lens support, hearing checks and advanced OCT scanning, our team is dedicated to delivering high‑quality care to a loyal and growing customer base.

We have a wonderful, close‑knit team of dedicated people in our Tunbridge Wells store, all ready and excited to welcome you. With a mix of experienced optical and audiology professionals, talented retail colleagues, and friendly customer‑facing team members, the store thrives on collaboration, expertise, and a shared passion for delivering exceptional care. Every member of the team plays an important role in creating a supportive, upbeat atmosphere where learning and development are encouraged and great customer service sits at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be joining a group who genuinely enjoy working together and take pride in helping our community see and hear at their best.

You’ll not only spend 15-18 months in a paid job, but also learn your trade while surrounded by our friendly, passionate and highly experienced team who’ll support you every step of the way.

Salary between £8.65ph - £11.05ph

Full time - 40 hours per week, to include weekend working

Who is this Apprenticeship for? 

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice. 

Individuals with GSCE Maths at Grade 9-4 (A*-C), or an equivalent level qualification

Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK 

What does the role involve? 

Welcoming customers into store

Booking in eye tests

Pre-screening patients

Providing style advice

Measuring frames

Taking phone calls
